Brian Burns Factsheet


Brian’s songs have been recorded by legendary Texas recording artists Gary P. Nunn, Johnny Bush, The Geezinslaw Brothers, Mike Hearne & South By Southwest, and many others.

1998: Brian’s debut CD, “Highways, Heartaches, & Honky-Tonks”, was named CD Of The Year  in 1998 by several major Country radio stations including Dallas/Ft. Worth’s KSCS 96.3.

1999: “Welcome To Texas”, the single from Brian’s second CD, “Angels & Outlaws”, was the most requested (and most played) song in the nation’s largest Country Music market (D/FW) in the summer of 1999.

2000: Brian was presented “Solo Artist Of The Year” by the Terry Awards, a long-standing institution recognizing excellence in Texas Music.

2001/2002: Brian has, for the past two years, been voted “Texas Artist Of The Year” by the Rockzilla Awards, an international group of devoted and discriminating Texas/Americana music enthusiasts.

2002: “I’ve Been Everywhere (In Texas)”, the single from Brian’s latest CD release, “The Eagle & The Snake: Songs Of The Texians”, moved to #2 on the Shane Media Group’s Texas Music Chart based upon the top Texas/Americana reporting radio stations.

2002: “I’ve Been Everywhere (In Texas)” charted for five consecutive weeks in the top 50 of R&R (Radio & Records) Country Chart based upon reports by radio stations in major Country Music markets, an unprecedented achievement for an independent recording artist.

2003: As Brian’s CD “The Eagle & The Snake: Songs Of The Texians” continued to enjoy unprecedented success, the title was licensed by Palo Duro Records, and the single “I’ve Been Everywhere (In Texas)” was chosen for the soundtrack of Grand Champion, a motion picture starring Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts, and an all-star musical cast.

2003: Brian introduced his school program “The Eagle & The Snake: Songs Of The Texians” which quickly established him as the premier educational entertainer for K-12 schools throughout Texas.

2004: Brian’s single “Evangelina” remained on the Texas Music Chart for several weeks, spending much of that time in the Top 10.

2004: Brian’s CD, “Heavy Weather” was released April 2004 and produced two of Texas radio's most requested songs that year - "Nothin' To Say (Austin Vs. Nashville)" and "Thunderstorms & Tyler Roses".

 

2006: Brian’s latest CD, “Border Radio” was released September 2006.  Winner of XM Satellite Radio's BEST IN TEXAS Award - 2006.
