THE PINK
FLAMINGO
Brian Burns – Brian Burns
Music (BMI)
I love ol’
Jack & Brenda out in San Angelo.
They like to have a party out on the patio.
That old West Texas sun is down, the stars are big and
bright
down at
The Pink
Flamingo…
tonight.
They’ve got
the hottest neon, they’ve got the coldest brew,
and when the clock strikes midnight, Jack’s cookin’
barbeque,
and all his friends are higher than a hundred dollar
kite
down at
The Pink
Flamingo…
tonight.
That funky
Texas music rings out around the block,
the neighbors all come over, so no one calls the cops.
Between the pyrotechnics and the six-string symphony,
there’s no place in the world tonight that I would
rather be.
Here come
ol' Clay & Cathy sippin’ Don Julio,
they just brought me a bottle back up from Mexico.
A little salt and lemon’s all it takes to cut the bite
down at
The Pink
Flamingo…
tonight.
This little
red dirt backyard, and these good friends of mine,
remind me of the U.S.A. back in a better time.
Between the conversation and the hospitality,
there’s no place in the world this mornin’ I would
rather be.
And now the
desert skyline takes on a purple
glow.
Jack says, “it’s almost daylight, let’s go to Mexico!”
A shooting star falls in the distance, all the world is
right
down at
The Pink
Flamingo…
down at
The Pink
Flamingo…
down at
The Pink
Flamingo…
tonight.
